Q. What are dermal fillers?

A. Botox is a prescription procedure administered via injections, around particular muscles in order to temporarily keep age lines out of view. Dermal fillers are injectable gels which can add volume to particular areas of your face, rendering your appearance more youthful.

Q. How do dermal fillers work?

A. Dermal fillers/Botox work by relaxing the muscles that are responsible for creating unaesthetic age lines and wrinkles, but they leave the natural structure and elements or your appearance in tact.

Q. Do Botox and dermal fillers have any side effects?

A. The side effects associated with these treatments are particular to the patients. Allergic reactions are very rare but a possibility in some patients, usually with weaker health. If you are in good health, there is no reasons why Botox should not be a great treatment for you.

Q. How do dermal fillers work?

A. As you age, the collagen and the elasticity in your skin begins to sag and cause deep folds. Many patients choose to fill in the folds around the mouth area, restore their cheek height, add volume to their lips using lip fillers as well as focusing on other areas.

Q. How long do dermal fillers and botox last?

A. Fillers can last between 4 and 12 months. Many people opt for top ups after their first injection.

Q. Is Botox an invasive process?

A. No. This is one of its main advantages – it is a non-surgical procedure that allows you to simply walk out after treatment. Hassle-free and lasting between 20-40 minutes, the procedure is quick and painless.

Q. What is involved in treatment?

A. Initially you’ll have to attend a consultation where your eligibility for the procedure will be assessed. Your skin will be prepared with a numbing and cleansing cream, so that the filler can be painlessly applied. You’ll be given aftercare products to use at home.

Q. What should I do after treatment?

A. Try to avoid any prolonged sun exposure and vigorous exercise for the 48 hours that follow your treatment.

Q. Are fillers safe?

A. Here at Fresh Dental we use a type of gel called Restylane, which is one of the most commonly used types of gel amongst professionals. Restylane is safe and effective in temporarily eliminating wrinkles.
