Dental implants at Fresh Dental Care are one of our most in demand treatment options. Of course, dental implants can feel like a major investment to many of us, but given that a dental implant can last a lifetime, it’s an investment that many people are deciding to make. For our patients here in Medway Towns, dental implants are more about value than they are price.
If you are unfortunate enough to have experienced tooth damage or loss, you’ll know that it comes with a whole host of problems. As well as denting your confidence, you may have noticed changes to your speech, bite, facial structure and even bone loss in the affected part of the jaw. Dentures, crowns and bridges can only go some way towards correcting these issues. However, dental implants at Fresh Dental Care offer an artificial solution to all of those problems that’s almost as good as a natural tooth.
- Prevent bone or gum shrinkage (which is common with dentures)
- Maintain the natural structure of your face
- Enable you to smile, eat and drink with confidence
- Restore the strength and function of your bite
- Be perfectly matched to the colour and shape of your natural teeth
Another benefit of dental implants at Fresh Dental Care is that they are suitable for and tolerated by the majority of patients.
Below, we answer some of the questions that people ask us when they are seeking dental implants in Medway Towns.
Dental implants FAQs
How do dental implants work?
Dental implants are made of titanium and inserted directly into the jawbone beneath your gum line. Over three to six months, the area heals and your bone grows on to the surface of the dental implant, causing a tight bond that prevents any micro-movements. In the second stage of treatment, a small metal post is attached to the implant. This protrudes above your gum line and holds a false tooth, which has been perfectly designed and colour matched to look completely natural.
Can anyone have dental implants at Fresh Dental Care?
Dental implants are tolerated by the majority of patients. To find out whether you are a suitable candidate, we would always advise making an appointment at Fresh Dental Care to discuss your options further.
Does the treatment hurt?
You will be given a local anaesthetic when your dental implants are fitted at Fresh Dental Care. You may experience some minor discomfort and swelling for two to three days after the procedure but this should usually subside.
If it takes three to six months for the dental implant site to heal, will I be left with unsightly gaps during that time?
If you wear dentures, you should be able to continue to do so while your implant site is healing. We can usually create a fixed temporary bridge to cover any gaps in your smile and ensure that your day-to-day life is not disrupted by dental implants.
