Improve your smile: Why veneers are still so popular….

Where did veneers come from?

The past decade has seen the popularity of veneers increase dramatically, as arguably, we live in the most image-conscious society yet. Veneers treatment originated in the 1920s when a famed Hollywood dentist Charles Pincus conceived veneers for actors and actresses to have aesthetic screen smiles, though they were removable, as he could not find a way to fully attach to the teeth.

Veneers offer patients a new front surface for a damaged, cracked, chipped, discoloured tooth. Veneers can also be used to close natural gaps when patients have widely spaced teeth. Veneers are durable and strong, rivalling that of natural teeth.

Pain-free procedure

There is no pain associated with veneers.

No recovery period and very little preparation involved

There is no recovery period associated with veneers and you can resume your daily activities immediately after treatment. There is also very little preparation involved.

Custom created for your smile

Veneers are fitted with a multi-layer bonding system that works by bonding the veneers to teeth. Your dentist will remove some of your tooth in order for it to be the same thickness as your existing teeth, though this will not damage your tooth surface in any way.

Veneers to close gaps in your teeth

Veneers can be used to close unnatural gaps in your teeth – some patients opt for this in conjunction with orthodontic  treatment or instead of. Please do not hesitate to speak to your dentist here at Fresh about the best option for you for widely spaced teeth.

Veneers are resistant to staining

Veneers are tenacious when it comes to staining and it takes a lot to damage them. However, this does not mean you are free to abuse your dental health!
