What is the difference between Dermal fillers and Botox ?

Whilst Botox relaxes the muscles in your face, fillers work by adding volume to certain parts of the face using the natural substance hyraluronic acid.

To put it more simply, one is a preventative and the other is to combat the wrinkles that already exist.

Which treatment should I choose?

Factors to consider are your facial structure and expectations of treatment beforehand with your practitioner here at Fresh. Botox is generally better for dealing with dynamic wrinkles as it pinpoints muscles and will reduce the emergence of lines that become visible when you move your face to make specific expressions. Static wrinkles that are visible all the time are best combatted via dermal fillers as they will be depleted areas that need volume.

Combining Botox and dermal fillers

Both treatments work effectively as individual treatments though when used in conjunction, the results are accentuated. Dermal fillers will add volume to areas of the face that appear sunken and perhaps gaunt and Botox will temporarily eliminate deep lines and wrinkles. Unlike cosmetic surgery, this combination takes your natural features and makes them look the best that they can be – it does not create a synthetic version of your features as with surgery.
